At Windswept Willow Farm, we produce high quality, healthy food and handmade products the natural way. We are stewards of the land on which we grow and raise food, and we conserve, and in most cases, enhance the land on which we are fortunate enough to farm. Peaches, pears, apples, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes and many varieties of vegetables are grown naturally and abundantly around the farm. Using intensive grazing management practices to minimize damage to pastures and enhance soil condition, we move the animals on a schedule. The animals eat the natural buffet bar of grasses, weeds, and other natural foods growing in our fields. Behind our goats, sheep and horses, we raise Jumbo Cornish Rock broiler chickens and Turkeys for meat and Maran and Americana chickens for eggs in movable shelters to protect them from predators while also limiting the time they spend in one pasture spot. The chickens move daily, providing the soil with just enough nitrogen to enhance soil conditions while offering the chickens a smorgasbord of bugs and grasses to compliment their feed. Unlike store bought chickens, our broilers are not raised in crowded, stressful, smelly chicken houses in which farmers have to wear masks to breathe and contamination suits to protect themselves. In fact, when you visit our farm, you won’t find offensive smells, sights, or sounds like you would at factory farms. The moment you step out of your car at our farm to purchase a chicken, or a basket of tomatoes, or other fruits and vegetables, you’ll find the same slice of heaven that Amy and I imagined the day we stepped out of our car to look at buying this place. We want to offer you the same healthy, quality food grown and raised for our family. We look forward to supplying you with your food and artisan needs.
